Opening China markets for Sarlin
GreenStream has opened China markets to many Finnish small and medium sized companies. One of the main technology partners at the moment is Sarlin.
Finnfund and GreenStream are pleased to announce the execution of an investment agreement that will enable Finnfund to invest €3,5m into the rapidly growing energy efficiency business of GreenStream in China. With this financing GreenStream will be able to build on the successful launch of its ESCO model (whereby Nordic technology is delivered to installations in China in return for revenue from the energy savings created by such equipment) and implement further projects with key Chinese industrial partners during 2014. The investment is structured as an equity subscription by Finnfund into GreenStream Energy Efficiency Investments Ltd., a joint venture company with GreenStream’s long-standing Chinese partner, Juno Capital.
Mr. Tuomas Suurpää, Finnfund’s Senior Investment Manager states: “Finnish cleantech sector is characterized by a few listed companies and a great variety of SMEs. Some of these SMEs have developed solutions that could have significant environmental benefits in China, but finding ways to match the Finnish technologies with opportunities in China is challenging. Finnfund is investing in GreenStream ESCO service model as it is exactly what is needed to work with these SMEs and to make these clean investments happen. Furthermore, it is expected that the yearly energy savings from the activities initiated now equal to over 30 MW of electricity generation. The projected reduction in greenhouse gas emissions corresponds to approximately 60 000 cars.”

Finnfund investoi GreenStreamin energiatehokkuusliikentoimintaan Kiinassa
Finnfund ja GreenStream ovat allekirjoittaneet sopimuksen, jonka mukaan Finnfund aikoo investoida 3,5 miljoonaa euroa GreenStreamin energiatehokkuusbisnekseen Kiinassa. Investoinnin myötä GreenStream pääsee kehittämään menestyksekkäästi alkanutta ja nopeasti kasvavaa ESCO-bisnesmalliaan (Energy Service Company), jossa suomalainen teknologia viedään kiinalaisiin tehtaisiin ja laitteiden generoimat energiasäästöt jaetaan tehtaiden ja GreenStreamin ESCO-yrityksen kesken. Finnfundin investointi on pääomasijoitus GreenStreamin ja sen pitkäaikaisen kiinalaisen yhteistyökumppanin Juno Capital Groupin yhteisyritykseen GreenStream Energy Efficiency Investment Ltd.:iin.
“Suomalaisella cleantech-sektorilla toimii muutama pörssiyhtiö ja paljon pk-yrityksiä. Jotkut näistä pk-yrityksistä ovat kehittäneet ratkaisuja, joilla voi olla merkittäviä ympäristöhyötyjä Kiinassa, mutta suomalaisen teknologian ja Kiinan markkinamahdollisuuksien yhteensovittaminen on haastavaa. GreenStreamin ESCO-malli on juuri sitä, mitä tällaisen yhteistyön ja investointien aikaansaattamiseksi tarvitaan. Lisäksi on odotettavissa, että vuosittaiset energiasäästöt ovat yli 30 megawattia, joka vastaa noin 60 000 auton kasvihuonekaasupäästöjä”, kertoo Tuomas Suurpää, Finnfundin rahoituspäällikkö.
