A world-class specialist joins GreenStream’s Climate Finance team

GreenStream’s Climate Finance team is happy to introduce their new team member, Hanna-Mari Ahonen. After three years of international career-building, Hanna-Mari has now returned to her home base GreenStream.

Hanna-Mari is an internationally known climate policy expert with 15 years of experience in international carbon markets and climate cooperation, from the perspective of public and private actors, international financial institutions and the academia. She has hands-on experience with hundreds of emission reduction projects and programmes around the world, as well as on the international standards and procedures that govern them. Her practical experience has also contributed to the UN climate negotiations, where she has represented the EU, Finland and Sweden as well as the business community over the past decade.

Currently at GreenStream, Hanna-Mari focuses on international cooperation in the implementation of the Paris Agreement, and tackling barriers to renewable energy investments in Sub-Saharan Africa under the Renewable Energy Performance Platform (REPP). She is developing and carrying out environmental and social due diligence and tracking results under the REPP. She is also advising the Finnish government on the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
