Supporting the Finnish Government regarding Paris climate negotiations and in preparation for the implementation of the Paris Agreement

GreenStream, as the lead consultant in two separate projects, provided support and analytical services for the Finnish Government regarding the Paris Agreement. In 2015 the consortium led by GreenStream supported the Finnish climate negotiation group in the run-up to the COP-21 climate change conference and the assessment of the results. In 2016 GreenStream’s consortium supported the Finnish Government in preparing for the implementation of the Paris Agreement in Finland and worldwide.

The services included writing several comprehensive reports covering large countries’ views and preparations for the Paris negotiations, and the results of the Paris negotiations. With a focus on climate finance, carbon pricing mechanisms and capacity building of developing countries, were assessed. The work also covered assessing Finland’s role in providing climate finance and cooperative approaches for mitigation. In addition to the reports, the assignments included workshop and event management and organisation services for relevant Finnish stakeholders.

GreenStream’s consortium in the first project consisted of Indufor Oy, CC Climate Change Law Consulting and Finnish Institute for International Affairs. In the second project our consortium members partners were VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Indufor Oy, CC Climate Change Law Consulting and Tyrsky Consulting.
